My Three Words for 2023

If you haven’t read anything on my three words before, it comes from Chris Brogan and you can read his 2018 post for more details. I find it’s a great way to set my intentions for the year, they help keep me focused. While I usually share this a little earlier, at least it’s still January this year :-) In previous years the words were:

  • 2016 – Be, Push, Pull

  • 2015 – Build, Strong, Focus

  • 2014 – Brave, Calm, Connect

  • 2013 – Creating, Connecting, Consolidating

  • 2012 – Do, Share, Inspire

  • 2022 - Persistent, Connected, Structured

  • 2021 – Flourish, Breathe, Dare

  • 2020 – Create, Grow, Well

  • 2019 – Aware, Brave, Creative

  • 2018 – Balance, Structure, Grow

  • 2017 – Structure, Serve, Write

Reflecting on 2022

Persistent - 2022 was a difficult year in a number of ways and I certainly feel there was a lot of persisting along the way. I did continue to grow my skills and business, allowing me to take some great business opportunities that came up. I also did another circus performance, with the additional challenge of spinning this time.

Connected - given that this year I’m focusing on Peace and Balance, this wasn’t as successful as I would have liked. Or maybe, there is a lot more work I need to do… let’s leave that there.

Structured - this was going really well until about October and then workload/brain broke some of the structure. But, I have a few things slightly better organised and I’m trying something new to keep a few other things on track - this is a continual improvement process.

2023’s Three Words

Image showing visual representation of my three words - Peace, Balance then Although this year it could all come down to one word - more

I feel this is all pretty self-evident - I was more peace in my life; more balance in my time between client work and my creative work; I want to develop more skills to expand my animation services; I want more strength/confidence in my circus performance… I want more of what I want and less of everything else. Yeah, this year is going to be interesting :-)
