  • People generally enjoy colour and movement - this is why death by text-heavy powerpoint slides is a problem. Often events are talkfests that don't provide enough visual connection and reminders for participants. They experience the a-ha moment, only to promptly forget it in the next talk or lose it among their own pages of notes.

    We also know people retain more information if they have visual placeholders for it. It's why presenters are encouraged to use graphs, charts and photos rather than bullet points of text. And for the visual people in the room, watching a scribe at work can dramatically increase their engagement.
